Wishing my dear readers Merry Christmas and Happy New year. People all over the world are busy preparing to welcome New Year. Everyone considers that with change of date and year, life is going to change. In fact change in life is not related to any particular date, month or year. It is a continuous process happening in everyone’s life.
Life is an ongoing process. Only thing that is constant in life is change. Every situation in life is a change. It can be in form of shifting to a new place, getting a new job or a promotion, purchasing a new house, a car or a gadget, it can be marriage or divorce, birth of a child in family or death of near and dear one, financial gain or a loss, or any other change. Human being does not have ability to bend the laws of universe therefore change is inevitable. Whether you like it or not, things are going to change. It happens all the time, everywhere and with everyone. It is a natural part of life. Winds of change that blow through our lives may sometimes be gentle. And on another occasion it can be harsh, more or less like a tropical storm, hurricane or a tornado. People at large consider change as one of the most difficult aspects of life. It happens to every one of us.
In this world things do not stay the same, they go on changing. Sometimes change can be sudden and at another occasion it can be gradual. Some changes are such that go unnoticed and some have life changing effect on us. Some changes can be controlled, while there may also be majority of changes that are uncontrollable. A change can be a challenge at time and it can be considered as good or bad.
Human tendency is to resist a change. Law of inertia applies here that says every physical object resists a change. Same is the case with human mind. No matter how much you resist and how many efforts you make to stop a change or develop different habits for the same, you cannot stop change in life.
As change is a natural part of life, it is often advisable to expect a change and accept the same. People in general develop a fear of change. They are afraid of unknown circumstances created during a change and also loss of comfort or fear of developing inadequacy as a result of a change. It is a proven fact that fighting against anything makes it worse. Change is no different. When you confront a change it may lead to anger, hatred, frustration, depression, pain or any other negative response. As change is integral part of life, it is often suggested to accept a change gracefully instead of protesting or opposing. Do not waste your energy in fighting against it. Shed your inhibitions and ego.
Even if there is a financial loss or a loss of relationship as a result of a change, do not confront because resultant loss of health and mental status will be considered bigger loss than a financial loss. There is a solution to overcome this fear and other negativity.
View change as an opportunity of growth and development and embrace this opportunity. Welcome new circumstances and experience its benefits. You must learn to accept this fact that change is necessary for fulfillment of your goals, objectives and dreams. Consider this opportunity as God sent opportunity for your welfare. You must always remember God knows the best for you and takes care of you. He is your heavenly father. Hence you cannot go wrong in accepting opportunities coming to you from God in the form of a change. Be flexible in accepting a change.
Always remember every negative situation brings an equal opportunity of positivism in life. If an old object is lost, you have an opportunity to get a new object of a better quality.
Last 200 years have witnessed tremendous changes in form of technological and other developments. And the trend is ongoing. You are living comfortable life with all those technological advancements because of changes during this period.
To accept a change gracefully you must involve yourself in following practices.
1. Meditation: Several meditation techniques are given in various articles on Practicing Meditation. It helps channeling energy of mind in positive direction and helping accepting change gracefully. With help of certain meditation techniques you can establish desired changes.

It is a day dreaming in which you create imaginary mental picture in the form of a movie of different desired items you wish to materialize in your life. Law of attraction works here and as a result your predominant thoughts attract similar circumstances in your life. With the help of creative visualization you can bring desired changes in your life.
4. Affirmations: Affirmations are positive statements describing desired situation. On continuously repeating these affirmations mentally or aloud, these affirmations bring desired results with the help of manifestation through your subconscious mind, what you repeatedly think and say. It affects your subconscious mind and through law of attraction you get the same in your life. You can frame suitable affirmations for bringing desired changes in your life. Please make sure that these are in present tense not in future tense.
At the time of a change, you may read this serenity prayer that says, “God grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.”
Essence of Bhagvad Gita, a Hindu scripture is,
“Whatever has happened has happened for good,
Whatever is happening is happening for good and
Whatever is going to happen, it will be for good.”
Therefore you must have faith in you and your capabilities and believe in love of God for you, and everything will be good for you.
